Chinas rich cultural backgroung and heritage lies the foundation for many, many festivals. On the one hand there are the festivals of the Han majority, but also the different ethnic group have their own minority festivals. Of all the minority festivals, perhaps the most popular ones are the Water Splashing Festival of Dai ethnic group, the Lusheng Festival of Miao people, the Shoton Festival of Tibet, the Nadam Festival of Mongolia.
